Back to the Drawing Board!

I do realize I'm a bit of a nut when it comes to finding the perfect piece to complete a room. I'm fine with that though. I like the chase, the hunt, and then the victory of finding exactly what I'm looking for.

Obviously, Erica's place is no different. I showed you those fabrics I found for her the other day, right? Remember, I was thinking we could make a duvet cover, since I was coming up short. A little more research turned up a wealth of duvet choices that I just love.

Here's my roundup!

What do you think? As a reminder, here are her window panels...

Any favorites?

I Heart Etsy...

Ok, I know some of you are already experts at navigating the depths of Etsy.com, but for those of you that think you can only find doilies and custom art pieces, let me show you what I just found on Etsy.

Remember how I was looking for a duvet cover for my friend Erica, something that had a bit of color but with some birds? Well, let me introduce you to Urban Accent Home, hands down one of the best Etsy shops I've browsed. I found Shanon by accident, but it seems that someone over at "House Beautiful" recently found her as well because one of her duvet's is featured in this month's issue! Congrats, Shanon!

Here are a few of my favorites!

I was thinking that these two duvets are strong contenders for Erica's bedding. And, the best part is, Shanon can customize the color of the birds! Sweet!

Check out this lamp. It's made from reclaimed wood, and the elegant shade really brings some balance to the rustic base. It's the perfect mix of elegance and rustic. Love.

Speaking of rustic, how cool are these pieces of wood from a fallen tree? One way Shanon shows them is decorating a fireplace, which is an amazing idea to bring some warmth to a usually cold surface (brick, stone, etc.) And, really, every good Etsy store must have some sort of owl in it, in my opinion. Here are a couple paperweights that I can envision on my desk today.

All of these amazing things can be found at Urban Accent Home. Congrats again Shanon on your feature in "House Beautiful!"

Birds of a Feather

The last few months I've been helping my dear friend Erica with her condo. Erica is an amazing photographer who I blogged about a few months ago on Create Girl's blog. (Here is the link to that blog, and here is the link to Erica's blog - you can also find her to the right under "blog love.") Erica owns a cute little condo here in Marblehead, that needed some love and personalization. We've come a long way (I'll show pictures soon!), but we still have a few unfinished pieces.

About a month ago, we picked up these great window panels for her bedroom from Pier 1.

Erica loves them, I love them and they look great in her space. But like I said, the space still isn't done and we still need to get her some bedding. Because of the lack of really great bedding out there, and because we have such specific color needs, I'd like to get some fabric and have a duvet cover made. We have certain color needs because of the graphic nature of these panels and since E loves birds, I'd love to incorporate those somehow. I've been looking high and low and have an idea for what I'm looking for but haven't found the perfect pattern yet.

Here are a couple that I've found. What's your vote?!

Well, Hello!

So as some of you know, I've been meaning to start this for a while. For those of you that don't know me, I'll attribute it to lack of time. For those of you that do, well, you know I actually do have time on my hands, so to you I don't really have an excuse! (crap!)

Actually, the reason I've not started it yet, is simply because I wasn't sure if anyone would want to read what I have to say. I mean, who am I to call myself and expert right? But then I realized, I'm not calling myself an expert. Not in the least! I'm just getting ideas out there and hoping for a little feedback (and maybe a follower or two!)

So, because I'm just starting this, I'll start small. I don't have a format, or any certain days attributed to anything in particular, I just have ideas, questions and want to bring you the interesting thoughts, ideas and things that I see.

I hope you'll enjoy traveling through this blog world with me as much as I will with you!

Cheers,
B
